Current position
Feb 2004 to '06, I was involved in the first cross border ( UK/Fr) Geospatial webserver for secondary education in EU.
We provided secondary schools in Kent, East Sussex, Nord, Pas de Calais, Somme, Seine Maritime (EU Interreg Region) with GIS software, high quality data, Virtual Tours, data webserver.

Project Overview :

The Dakini project established the first cross border (UK/France) geo-spatial web server for schools.

It provides high quality map based data for the trans channel area (Kent, East Sussex, Nord Pas de Calais, Seine Maritime and Somme) via a bi-lingual website accessible to all secondary schools (11-16 years).

Lesson plans and training materials were produced in support of the GIS software and data which were dispatched to the school.

Training sessions were performed in Kent and North France' schools to ensure that the maximum potential of the new ICT technology is realised.

Virtual Tours creation

The Virtual Tours are intended to act as virtual field trips allowing pupils to visit sites of cultural, historical and geographical importance around their region in Kent and the North of France.

The original virtual tours material are available to download for free from the dakini website (need Quicktime player to view the 360° scenes).
