Mapping and data collection for Humanitarian Affairs
I worked for the World Food Program in the Democratic Republic of Congo, at Kinshasa. The UN Joint Logistic Center gather all kind of GIS data from local Administration and NGO's, produces GIS data, and maps freely available on UNJC website.
Output : Various regional and national thematical maps, data collection and integration, Trained UN and NGO's staff iin the use of GIS data and maps.

Bringing GIS into schools, an anglo-french initiative : The Dakini Project
Established the first cross border ( UK/Fr) geospatial webserver for secondary education in the EU. This joined-project between University, Academie de Rouen, and private company provides GIS software, high quality resources, and a webserver to secondary schools in Kent, East Sussex, Nord, Pas de Calais, Somme, Seine Maritime.
Output : Trained teachers in Kent in GIS, Developped training materials, managed all imagery data, coordinated the development of GIS webserver, tested GIS software, promoted the Dakini Project on various international Fairs.

Biodiversity distribution analysis using GIS approach in Western Ghats forest, India
Produced a GIS to lead an environmental study in forestry using large amount of spacialised bioclimatic data and georeferenced endemic plant species.
Output : Submited article "Global patterns of tree endemic species richness in the Western Ghats, India", 2nd autor.

Mangrove vegetation change using Remote Sensing, India
Conducted a multi-temporal analysis of vegetation using LandsatTM and IRS satellite data.
Output: "Change detection in the vegetation of Godavari mangrove between 1988 and 1993 using NDVI difference approach", by Stéphane Guéritte, technical paper for future reference, Applied Computing Laboratory, Institut Français de Pondichéry, India.

Drought Monitoring using Remote Sensing
Completed a GIS project to monitor and evaluate the severity of the Afghanistan drought (1999-2001) at the national level, using the Vegetation Probability Indicator (VPI). This project is an application of Remote sensing to disaster Management.
